How to make delicious Masala Bhindi in 30 minutes?

Recipe of Masala Bhindi

Masala bhindi or spicy okra is a simple yet delicious vegetarian dish that is popular in Indian cuisine. It is made with fresh okra, onions, and a blend of spices that give it a unique flavor and aroma.

Here's a recipe to make masala bhindi at home:

Ingredients:

  • 500g fresh okra, washed and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

  2. Add cumin seeds and fry until they start to splutter.

  3. Add onions to the skillet and cook until they turn golden brown.

  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the raw smell disappears.

  5. Add tomatoes to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until they turn soft and mushy.

  6. Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt to the skillet and mix well.

  7. Add the chopped okra to the skillet and mix well to coat the okra pieces with the spices.

  8. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until the okra is cooked through and tender.

  9. Remove the lid and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until any excess moisture has evaporated.

  10. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan bread or steamed rice.

Enjoy your delicious and spicy masala bhindi!
